Hello,
I changed my powerline adapter and installed a D-Link Magic Wifi Mini Starter; the setup went normally since I receive my wifi signal from my Livebox very well.
I have an HP Photosmart 6520 wifi printer that was working fine until now. Since I changed my powerline adapter, it is not recognized and therefore cannot function via wifi.
The wifi light on the printer is blinking, so there’s no wifi, and upon closer inspection, it tells me:
Wireless required
wifi not connected
ip address not connected
network name not available
I pressed the wireless setup button to find my network, which does appear. My issue is that it asks me to enter the wireless password. Where can I find it?
To conclude, 1 time out of 10, the printer connects properly via wifi; what could be the problem?
Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards.

Hello
How was your Wifi printer connected before the Devolo Magic?
While waiting for your response, the easiest thing would be to assign the same SSID (name) and Wifi password to the Devolo Magic as your box.
That way, nothing needs to change; whatever connects to the box via Wifi will also connect to the Devolo.
It's the signal strength that will determine what to connect to: the Box or the Devolo...
Cheers

Hello,
Thank you for your response, I will provide you with more information. The light on my printer is blue so it's connected via Wi-Fi, but when I try to print, nothing happens.
When I click on the network and internet icon at the bottom right, my LiveBox 435B appears as connected through the powerline adapter, my developer does not appear there, I don't know if that is normal.
However, my printer appears and it asks me to connect and requests the network security key, which causes my LiveBox connection to drop. It's really complicated for me, I entered the Wi-Fi key of my LiveBox as well as that of the powerline adapter, but it doesn't work. Where can I find the network security key?
Thank you for your help. -
Hello
I regret that you didn't answer my question!!
The wifi key for your Livebox as well as its name can be found on the sticker stuck under the Livebox...
To configure the Devolo with the same name as the Livebox, you need to follow the manual starting from page 38....
In any case, it's the Livebox that distributes the network in your home, the Devolo is just a relay...

Ok, I followed the recommendations, and I am now connected to the powerline adapter. For my printer, I entered the security key for the powerline adapter, and it has been successfully recognized. My printer is connected via Wi-Fi, but when I start a print job, the following message appears:
Unable to execute the print job because the printer is either unavailable or not connected. -
Hello
Unfortunately, we still don't know if it worked before the Devolo!!!
Please reinstall the program/driver on your computer and follow the procedure step by step again.
See you!

It worked very well before and yes, I reinstalled the driver for my printer on my computer.

I am not a computer expert; I am trying to understand by asking for help. I followed everything to the letter, everything is fine except that I cannot print via Wi-Fi.

I wanted to thank you for your help, which has been helpful even though I'm having printer problems. I will print with the cord since that works and will set aside the Wi-Fi printing. Thank you.

Hello
Don't give up... Unfortunately, this is quite a common issue with Wi-Fi printers.
If you erase all the Wi-Fi settings on the printer (in the printer menu, factory settings...) and go through the procedure step by step, you should be able to make it work.
Example of a manipulation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t5oeOZblBk
It's really a headache, but it's a shame to have a Wi-Fi printer without really being able to use it.

Especially since the printer recognizes the Wi-Fi, but when I try to print, it says it cannot communicate with the printer.
I watched the video and did exactly as shown, but it still doesn't work. In my network settings, my printer appears, and it asks me for the network security key to connect? Where can I find that is the question. -
Hello
You don't "connect" to your printer, your printer connects to your router...
The only code is the Wi-Fi code for your router and/or Devolo in your case.
Once the printer is connected to the network, it is "visible" to other devices connected to the same network and can be used by the driver...
So you need to go through the installation program to connect the printer to the network for the first time, which asks for the Wi-Fi code (label under the router), and once the printer is connected to the router, the driver communicates with the printer, there's no need for the code anymore.

Hello,
Despite following your procedures to the letter, my problem is not resolved. It only works with the USB cable. -
The Wi-Fi is recognized but the message still says it's impossible to communicate with the printer.

I finally have good news, everything is working perfectly. While looking on the HP website, I realized that I was missing a software, I downloaded it and now my printing problem is solved.
Once again, a big thank you for your help. -
Hello
You see, you shouldn't give up, keep trying and trying, it always pays off.
If you've resolved your issue, that's what matters.
See you soon
