Hello everyone,
I wanted to write this post to warn you about the use of Acronis under Windows 11. I migrated to W11 10 days ago. I tested the backups with Acronis, which I have been using for 4 years now. I have a license for Acronis True Image 2021. I did not encounter any issues with the backups. However, I wanted to perform a data restoration test. The restoration home menu indicates 'no data to recover at the moment.' Fortunately, I can restore data from Windows' file explorer by opening the Acronis backup folder.
I opened a ticket with Acronis, and their response somewhat surprised me. Acronis True Image is not compatible with Windows 11. You need to purchase the Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office version. Here is their response:
Acronis True Image 2021 and earlier versions will not officially support Windows 11, although we have not heard of any major compatibility issues. You can use Acronis True Image from any version on Windows 11 at your own risk.
More information here: https://kb.acronis.com/content/69259
(You can select the French language directly under the title.)
The Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office version has been tested on new hardware configurations like Windows 11.
For the older versions of Acronis, no updates are planned, as the old version no longer receives or will receive technical support or will be tested.
I would have appreciated an informational message from Acronis informing me that the version I am using offers no security in case of restoration. Quite ironic.
That's why I wanted to post this message.

Hello,
thank you for your reply. I was a heavy user of Acronis at the time when they were the only ones offering a hot backup solution. Then I had some issues with them (total crash without the possibility of restoration due to Acronis True Image), and now I use Windows' system backup by creating a system image. Acronis theoretically supports it (never tried).

Without wanting to upset you and in times when people under 20 wouldn't remember, there were plenty of others: Norton Ghost was supposed to launch from a third-party partition, but for example, Drive Image could easily run from the working partition.
