Hello,

My remote control for my 96x Max+ box is not working anymore... Everything was working fine with it and then it just stopped suddenly...
I tried the suggested techniques regarding brightness but nothing works...
Do you have any other ideas?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Sylvain

Hello,

There is no galaxy in there... It's X96max+

Is it the remote that comes with the device?

The batteries might be bad or the infrared sensor on the X96 might be covered?

To check, you should place your smartphone's camera in front of the infrared LED on the remote and press a button; you should see the flashes on your smartphone's screen.

Yes, it is indeed the remote control delivered with the 96x Max+ box.
The batteries are new (just like the box, by the way!)
The remote seems to be working since I had paired it with some buttons on my TV (turning off, lowering or raising the volume).
It's as if I cannot use the remote buttons for the box (the red LED lights up when I press them, though...)
Help me!

She seemed to be working back then... but now... does it still function??

The infrared LED is not visible to the human eye... its beam projects out the front of the casing. Only digital photo sensors can see that... So, do as I said with a smartphone and reconsider your answer..

Although they are new, your batteries might be bad... especially if they are original..

Otherwise, you will have to contact your supplier to make use of the warranty..

I don't see any LED on the front of the case when I try your technique.. what should I infer from that?

It's possible that you don't see an LED; it is often behind a dark plastic and seems to be part of the casing... But behind (inside) there is an INFRARED LED that you direct towards your X96 to transmit commands through coded pulses... this light is invisible to the human eye...
Don't think it doesn't exist just because you can't see it..

The way to see these pulses is to put a digital camera in front of it and press a button... You should see the rapid pulses coming from this hidden LED...

If you see nothing or no pulses, there is no command emission, it cannot work..

The primary cause is a battery defect; you need to replace them with "Alkaline" ones no matter what.

Of course, the casing could also be faulty (or dropped, or dirty), but that is much rarer... and it's not possible to act on it via a forum... The cheapest solution would be to buy another one.
But I strongly believe that the batteries are bad and need to be replaced at all costs.
You should measure them with a voltmeter, but I assume you can't do that..? So replace the batteries with good ones.
