Hello.
I use SAMSUNG Smart Switch to back up everything on my SAMSUNG Galaxy J3 (2016) smartphone.
I am considering changing my smartphone.

Can Smart Switch restore the complete backup on another smartphone of a different brand?
I am thinking of buying the Xiaomi Redmi 9T.

    In theory, yes since it's Android. But not with this mode.
    However, restoring from a backup is not possible because it's a backup of the phone (this phone as a whole). It won't work on another phone, especially from a different brand and Android version.

    On the other hand, with the new phone, you will be able to use the app to transfer content from the old one to the new one. This includes apps, accounts, and various types of "media data".

    It should also be noted that your online account (Google) already contains some of your data (photos for example), unless you have disabled these synchronization features.

      I can transfer the content from the old phone to the new one ... OK - that's the question I'm asking > but with which app?

        I’ll summarize. The backups you make, if we are talking about the same thing, are only usable if your phone crashes and needs to be restored.

        However, Smart Switch can be used with your new phone; in principle, it works on most Android phones, even non-Samsung.
        You buy the new phone, install Smart Switch on both the new and the old phone, then Smart Switch will offer to transfer/recover data directly from phone to phone, either via a USB cable or via Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth (if I remember correctly).
        It retrieves quite a bit of stuff.

        Ha OK - It's possible with Smart Switch to transfer from the current Samsung to the new smartphone.
