USB drive: system volume information

Hello,
after a little problem with the USB drive, I notice on the drive a folder: system volume information.
Is this normal? What should I do to make it disappear?

Hello
this folder is normal and is used by the Windows operating system
but it is a hidden folder
if you see it, it means that the "Hidden items" checkbox in the file explorer must be enabled

Of course, but I believe it is useful, if only for security reasons, to display hidden and obscure files.

That said, and to get back to the point, there’s no point in deleting it since it will be recreated by Windows as soon as the drive is reconnected.

It is not accessible on fixed volumes, and it only takes up a few kilobytes anyway.

It has been mentioned that it can take up much more significant sizes (for example, 100 MB or more), especially by harboring viruses, but here we stray from the topic: even if it is not decorative, the general rule is to leave that folder alone.

In a similar scenario, Mac OS systematically writes files to a connected USB drive, and those can be deleted if the drive in question is only connected occasionally.
