Hello,
After a crack like a lamp blowing, my PC (ACER all-in-one) turned off and I can't restart it. Before disassembling it, aside from the power cable, what should I check and what symptoms are possible?
Thank you for your help
Best regards
Configuration: Windows / Edge 92.0.902.78

Hello,
The most likely cause is a failure of the power supply.
Therefore, the first thing to do is to test it.
Open the computer, disconnect the power supply from the motherboard. Use a paperclip to conduct a test.
Technique here: https://lescahiersdudebutant.fr/peripheriques/comment-tester-alimentation-pc/
You will know whether you just need to buy a new power supply or if you need to take the computer to a repair technician.

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

Thank you for these valuable tips, I will dismantle the PC (which is no small feat on an all-in-one) and I will keep you updated on the next steps.
Best regards- Hello,
With a screwdriver and a plastic card, there’s no problem with disassembly, but I couldn't test with a paperclip because I didn't see a 20+4 connector, attached photo
So I don't know what to do next, any ideas would be welcome, maybe there’s a fuse on the motherboard? Or maybe it’s planned obsolescence, the PC dates from 2013!!!
Thanks for the help
Best regards - Hello.
<<< or planned obsolescence, the PC is from 2013!!! >>>
Why not! . . . I actually had an ACER XC 605 from 2013 in for repair last week (stuck on the BIOS in "Entering Setup")
Indeed, the motherboard looks more or less like a laptop motherboard. So it’s going to be a real pain to find the problem, especially since there are hardly any burnt or exploded components visible.
If no lights come on at all, including on the keyboard, I’m afraid the motherboard might be dead.
See you later . . .
