Send sound from your phone to an old amplifier

Question

Hello,  I wanted to send sound from my phone to my old amplifiers, but I have absolutely no idea how to do it. Most posts talk about a Bluetooth receiver, but the problem is that the ports on the amplifiers are not RCA; they are just connectors (see photo).   By the way, I have two of them; is it possible to connect both? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello The photo shows a speaker connector, not an amplifier... This connector is used to connect a speaker to an amplifier and not to a smartphone whose audio output is not amplified.  You can connect your phone to the amplifier, which is connected to the speakers.    In general, the input connectors of amplifiers are either RCA (photo) or Jack, not the one you showed, which is either a speaker output on an amplifier or an input on a non-amplified speaker. Ok thanks, I didn't know at all But I can't send sound from my phone to my hi-fi system. Is there a way to get around that? Knowing that I have the amplifier and the two speakers. Thanks in advance

Hello You can "send" sound to the amp, which then sends it to the speakers. For example, with a "Jack to RCA" cable, if your smartphone has a jack port.   Otherwise, via Bluetooth, it's very "trendy," which is why there’s an abundance of Bluetooth speakers available. But there are Bluetooth adapters to connect to an amp (more expensive than the cable).   Cheers -- If the answer helped you: a little thank you is nice. Ok, thanks a lot, it works perfectly. I've just seen that I have another problem now. When I send the sound from my phone to the amplifier via a jack cable, it’s not very loud. Compared to the sound when I directly use the radio from the amplifier, which is much, much louder. I’ve turned the volume up to the maximum on my phone and the "volume" knob on the amplifier doesn’t change anything when I turn it. Is there a way to make the sound louder because the speakers can output many more decibels? Thanks in advance.

Hello The volume depends on the power of the source, but what if it all comes from the smartphone? For example, if the MP3 sounds weak, it could be due to the volume during the original rip of the MP3 and what is "outputted" from the radio app is through the app. So I don't have any leads to fix that, except to do some tests. Thank you for helping me So following the first problem, I bought a Bluetooth receiver that I connected via RCA plug marked "L/R Audio" on the label. I’m sending music from the Spotify app. I can increase the volume via the phone's buttons but the rotary knob on the amplifier doesn’t change anything. (The display increases or decreases but the sound does not change) The sound is twice as quiet compared to when I tune in the radio directly from the amplifier. (So the Bluetooth box is not involved) Is it possible that the Bluetooth receiver box is not powerful enough? How can I fix the problem??

Hello The Bluetooth box is only there to "replace" a cable between the source (smartphone) and your amplifier (RCA - Cinch) of the hi-fi system.  As AluMinioume explained to you, behind your amplifier, the RCA (sources) are labeled (AUX, CD, etc...), you need to make sure that the source selected on the amplifier is indeed the one to which you have connected the Bluetooth, so that the volume is adjusted by the amplifier...  Do you have any information about your amplifier (exact model and/or pictures of the front and back)?  Cheers If the answer helped you: a small thank you is nice. Hello, I connected the RCA cables to the "Audio L" and "Audio R" inputs of the amplifier, see photo below   And I changed all the sources on the system, and with none can I control the volume Does anyone have an idea??

Hello Thank you for the photos. It's clearer now ;-) But not simpler... This equipment apparently doesn't have an audio input, except for the Scart (Peritel) socket unless the "big white thing" taped on hides something!! So apart from the Scart (if properly wired, contacts 2, 4, and 6), there's no audio input.  See you If the answer helped you: a little thank you is nice. Hello After examining the front panel, there appears to be a microphone input (3.5mm jack), if that's correct it can also receive sound, but probably mono, not stereo...
