Hello,
I want to transfer my Hi8 tapes from my Sony camcorder to my PC.
I have therefore purchased and installed on Windows 10 the software honestech 4.0 SE that comes with the AUGUST USB key.
The installation is OK, but when it comes to configuring the audio and video devices, the only options offered are:
- conexant polaris video (and audio) captures -
By clicking on these choices, I get the response:
"The selected device cannot be used, please choose another".
In the manual delivered with the equipment, there is no mention of what to do if such a response occurs and no reference to these devices.
Can you help me out of this deadlock?
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
these acquisition keys are rather capricious...

Good evening Extempor
Thank you so much for your reply and your videos, you really helped me out!!
I watched the shortest video and bingo, its solution proved to be the right one.
I validated the camera access and after a crash (the camera not recognized) and restarting, I was able to record a test sequence.
My searches on the web focused on peripheral installation. I couldn't find any articles addressing this issue with the keyword.
I know someone who will sleep well tonight...
Best regards
