Windows Security Kernel Isolation

Question

Hello everyone,

I am currently on Windows 11 with an ASUS Zenbook UX310U. I have two issues with my computer.

The first is that I cannot use the "core isolation tool" in the Windows Security section due to Huawei files. Here are two examples:
- ew_usbccgpfilter.sys
- hw_usdev.sys
- ...
These are all Huawei drivers on my Asus. The worst part is that I can't even delete them. What do you think? (I just reset the PC).

The second issue is that Windows Offline does not work. When I try to use it, absolutely nothing happens!

A little note, I am dual booting with Ubuntu. However, I have set Windows as Boot 1 (without Ubuntu) and even then it doesn't work.

Hi,  If you install Windows from scratch, the drivers won't be there unless Windows installs them.  Windows Offline?

Actually... I installed a driver for my keyboard lighting. But I don't understand why it's there. Because of this, I am unable to isolate the kernel.  Windows Offline is not working.  ComCyber

ew_usbccgpfilter.sys = Huawei

hw_usdev.sys > Found nothing

You can try to remove them with Reanimator with Fix Problems (Inspection Mode if offered)

> In Services > Display All

Or alternatively with the background window > VxD Drivers

Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you for your help! I'll be more specific. I am currently on Windows 11. I recently did a factory reset (less than a week ago). I also have a Huawei phone that I connect to my computer. However, I haven't installed anything on my computer except for some ASUS drivers found on their site.

When I attempt the "core isolation" technique in Windows Defender, it refuses and Windows tells me that some drivers are incompatible. There are about ten of them and some are repeated!

All these files come from Huawei. I wonder if simply connecting my phone to my computer installs files on the system that are impossible to remove. It's frustrating!

Also, Windows Defender offline doesn’t work at all. Nothing happens (it has never worked since the factory reset).

Just as a side note, I fell victim to spyware that persists through restarts (or factory resets) with this phone. This isn’t paranoia :)
However, I don’t think there’s a link. So I have two questions:

What are these files? Can I delete them? I saw a video from "Malekal" using Powerrun or the software that you recommend.

I'm not sure I'll be able to respond for much longer because Windows Defender isn't my area of expertise, and.

1. Because I find Windows Defender unreliable, I don't use it, nor any other standard antivirus; I have my own personal techniques. (RegRun Security Suite Platinum, WinToUSB with RegRun Reanimator, Comodo Free Firewall, NoScript, Autoruns).

2. Windows 11 is still in testing, not yet officially released, just for Microsoft Insiders.

3. You can try to remove the drivers as I mentioned, but I don't know where that will lead you...

You need to look at the name of the drivers in "Examine Incompatible Drivers" in Kernel Isolation after activating it and remove it with the drivers in Device Manager by going to "View" > "Show hidden devices" then "Drivers by device," but well, I couldn't find the driver EW_usbcgpfilter from Huawei!!!
