Issue with spacebar and enter key in Word 2010

Ladies and gentlemen,

I am occasionally encountering an annoying problem in Word: When I press the enter key to move to the next line, the cursor stays on the same line, and the line change only becomes visible when I type the next character.
Similarly, when I press the space bar, the cursor does not move, and the space only appears when I start the next word. This is very bothersome and I can't figure out how to fix it.

Thank you in advance for any solution you can provide.

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 90.0

Well, that’s precisely the problem! If I knew what caused this annoying weirdness, I would also know how to fix it. But I’ve never been able to understand what triggers it.
When I said “episodically,” it’s because I don’t have this problem all the time
    but why? That...

I currently have that with a rather large document that I'm writing. If I copy my text to a new file, the problem doesn't "follow" my copy, my new file is correct. There must be an option that I accidentally used without realizing it, but I can't figure out what it is.
So I will continue with the new file...

Thank you for your responses, anyway.

Try to find common points among the problematic files:
    Only new documents?
    Only downloaded documents?
    Only documents containing inserted objects?
Only files created with Pages or Writer then opened with Word?
    etc...
