Hello,

One in three discs doesn't play all the way through on my UHD 4K Blu-ray player UBK80; the film always freezes at the same scene. I have to go through the menu/chapters to finish my movie. At first, I thought it was a defect in the disc, but after several exchanges, I realized that the player wasn't reading the disc all the way to its third layer. Has anyone encountered this type of problem? I'm planning to change my player, but I'm hesitating between several brands, and I'm especially afraid of getting a dud again. Do you have a brand you would recommend? Thank you for your replies.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response, but that's the first thing I thought of; the software is up to date. So, I'm leaning more towards a defect in the reader. What do you think?

      Hello,
Is your Blu-ray player recent (less than 2 years old)?

Apparently, this model is no longer eligible for intervention.

Your Blu-ray is still under warranty (2 years from the date of purchase). It cannot be... "more eligible for intervention."

Is it a refurbished or used product?

Nine, I have no trust in the other formulas.
But, good to know if Cdiscount is honest.

...so if it is new, the warranty is indeed 2 years. Check with LG's customer service.

I just finished the phone interview. So, I have to return the product at my own expense, of course. They will refund Cdiscount in the form of a store credit and Cdiscount will refund me in the form of a store credit as well. I'm not really thrilled about it, but that's their way of doing things.

    Hello,

In the end, I sold my player to a friend who only watches Full HD Blu-rays.
That way, I don’t have to stress about LG and Cdiscount.
So now, I just have to decide on the brand of the player; I'm still not out of the woods...
