Hello everyone,

I hope I'm in the right forum; if not, please let me know where I should ask for help.

My ISP made me change my modem router due to a storm. So now, I need to reconnect all my devices to the new wifi.

I've done that except for my printer: Hp MFP 179: I can't get it configured to connect to the new network.

On the router, I press the wps button until the LED blinks.
On the printer, I press the wifi antenna symbol
then go to the wps menu and there, I have the choice between pin or pbc but no matter which one I validate, the printer does not connect.

I also notice that its ip is 192.168.223.1 while my pc is on 192.168.1.6, meaning it's on a different network.

I'm lost because I don't understand why it's not working.

The modem is a sagem.

Configuration: Windows 10 / Chrome 91.0.4472.77

    Hi,
you should be able to connect your printer manually by entering the key directly.
for the IP address, you must have entered a fixed one manually because if it doesn't connect, it can't receive one from the router.

Is the key the Wi-Fi password?

I entered the key manually, but the issue remains the same.
As for the IP address, I cannot enter or modify it.
The only thing I can enter is the SSID, but I don't know what it corresponds to. The router?

      Yes,
the SSID is the name of the router's wifi network, you should see it on your PC.

Normally, if it were fixed, we should be able to connect to the printer menu either directly on it or via http://192.168.223.1 to assign a consistent IP like 192.168.1.20
Browse through the modem menu under the same conditions (typically 192.168.1.1) looking for Wifi restrictions, MAC...

Well... I unplugged the printer, then plugged it back in.
With your various interventions, I eventually found the network and connected.

    Thank you all.

      Thank you for the feedback,
even if it remains quite mysterious.
