Hello, we have the Canal decoder (the small black satellite receiver), an old Pioneer home theater, and a Samsung TV. To connect the decoder to the home theater, we bought an optical audio/RCA converter. All the connections seem fine, the decoder is set to optical output, but the only sound we hear from the home theater is a metallic noise (impossible to describe). Can you help us? Thank you.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 91.0.4472.77

Re,
If this is indeed that thing:

If the power light is on and if the home is properly switched to the corresponding RCA input, there may be a startup failure => return to the store, it's the famous "bathtub curve":

Hello, I went today to exchange the converter as you advised me. The technician exchanged it without asking any questions, got back home and miracle, the new one works perfectly. Thank you again for your advice.

Hello,
What is the reference for this converter?
Is it powered via USB port or 220 V -> USB socket?

Hello, the reference of the converter is "Essentiel" from Boulanger, and the title is "digital to analog audio converter." It is mains-powered.
