Hello,

I plan to upgrade my PC, which needs a more powerful processor.
The problem is that I bought a Médion PC, and its motherboard leaves something to be desired: I can't find which processors are compatible with it.

'''My socket is LGA 1151'''; but while many recent processors support it, '''Intel specifies that the 8th generation''' is not supported; because '''my chipset is not an Intel 300 but an Intel 100'''.
( "''Intel® Core™ processors of the 8th generation for desktop PCs continue to use the LGA1151 socket, but they require new motherboards with Intel® 300 Series chipsets to deliver rated performance. The processors are not compatible with existing platforms based on Intel® 200 series chipsets and motherboards with Intel® 100 series chipsets.''" )

I contacted Intel support, who really didn't know what to tell me, other than to send me the link to my motherboard's manual, which does not provide any information regarding compatibility with newer processors ( https://motherboarddb.com/media/manuals/ECS/H110H4-M19/H110H4-M19.pdf )

I would like to know if, for example, the Intel Kaby Lake Processor - Core i7-7700K - 4.2GHz is compatible with my motherboard. ( https://www.cdiscount.com/informatique/processeurs/intel-processeur-kaby-lake-core-i7-7700k-4-2gh/f-10764-bx80677i77700k.html?idOffre=723506810 )
And if a newer one like the '''Intel Core i5 9600K''' is also compatible ( https://www.cdiscount.com/informatique/processeurs/processeur-intel-core-i5-9600k-bx80684i59600k/f-10764-int5032037140164.html#mpos=0|cd )

Thank you for your answers!

    Hello
it's written in black and white in the motherboard manual

you need a 6th generation "Skylake" CPU for optimal compatibility

the Intel Processor Kaby Lake - Core i7-7700K - 4.2GHz is 7th generation
your BIOS needs to be up to date (latest version) for it to work with your motherboard in theory

and for the Intel Core i5 9600K processor, it is not compatible at all, too recent
