Messenger : message sent but not received issue

Hello, yesterday I sent a friend request to someone while also sending them a private message on Messenger. Since I wasn't friends with this person, the message probably ended up in the "message requests" folder. This morning, that person accepted my friend request, but the message is still sent but not delivered because the circle is checked but not filled in.
Now that the person has accepted my invitation, how can I make sure they are notified of my message?
It seems that I had this problem a long time ago and that I would need to resend a message for both to be delivered, but I'm afraid of coming across as pushy.

A blank and checked circle means that it has not been read, so there is no proof that it has not been returned.

Hello, it is checked but not filled in blue, it is just checked and in white, which means it has been sent but not delivered, so the person did not receive the notification.

So it's probably a setting on the contact's phone because my son is the same and he tells me he doesn't receive the notification, or it's a Facebook setting that's preventing the notification from being sent.

So it has nothing to do with a recent addition since I've known my son for 22 years ^_^
