double taskbar Solved

this message is quite old apparently, but I have a similar problem for which I have not found any solutions...
my taskbar (Windows XP, the blue one at the bottom of the screen in normal theme) is twice its normal size
description of my taskbar
at the top: my start bar, my shortcuts in small icons
below: the internet pages that I open
far right: time, date + 9 icons

Hello again, I solved
Unlock the "Taskbars"
In the one below, under the quick launch icons (QL), there is a small vertical bar. With the left button, you need to click on it and move it up, a bit to the right of the QL icons. Then we lock it again and it's all good.

Hi,

right-click on the blue bar, uncheck "lock the taskbar," then you will have a border above your bar, you select it when the arrows appear and then you drag the bar down.

Hello, this message is a bit old, but I'm taking my chance.
So, apparently I have the same problem and I can't resolve it.
My taskbar is on two levels, it is not locked, on the right the icons with the clock etc. are on 2 levels, on the left a line with the start menu and my quick launch icons, and when I launch Google for example, it opens under this line instead of beside it.
My taskbar is double and I can't figure out how to fix the problem.

For those who might be interested in XP if your taskbar icons are huge and pixelated:

Desktop, right-click, appearance, Windows Classic style -> OK
Desktop, right-click, appearance, Windows XP style -> OK

And everything goes back to small!!

does anyone have the solution?
Usually,
the taskbar is indeed double. The upper part contains "Quick Launch" and below it is an X bar. This X bar is not in the list of toolbars, where I only have "Quick Launch." The launched applications are placed in this X bar. When I try to minimize, both bars disappear. When I unlock it, I try to move the icons, but nothing works.

If you have a small square FR on the left (next to the start menu), it means the language bar is activated. You need to remove it by right-clicking on the little square and your taskbar will return to a normal size!

For my part, it worked by removing a toolbar called PowerDVD.. We'll see.. And I was able to reduce it correctly... Otherwise, I would reduce it but it would remove it completely..

So for this toolbar issue, it's a bit complicated to explain, but follow this and it should be fine:
1/ Place yourself in a blue corner of the bar and uncheck "Lock the taskbar"
2/ Go to the extreme top corner of the toolbar and lift it up high to see clearly
3/ Observe the columns made with dots; the double line needs to go all the way down, otherwise, it's a column that has positioned itself like a line in another column, so grab the line by the double dots and recreate a column that goes down to the bottom
4/ Position yourself again at the end of the toolbar with the mouse and pull it down to the bottom again; if you can't go all the way down, go back up and rearrange the columns properly

1- Right-click on the taskbar ==> Unlock
2- Right-click on the taskbar ==> Click at the top on the toolbars menu
3- Uncheck as many options as possible to reduce the height of the taskbar (you can check some of them afterwards).

And then that's it.
