Hello,
I'm contacting you because I have a problem with the software "Veyon," which is commonly used in schools on computer equipment.
It's a software that allows you to turn on, turn off, lock, control, etc... a computer, all remotely.
Having installed the application on three different computers (including one that is not at my place, I unfortunately believe that this software only works on local networks and therefore close to the master PC).
- On the first PC where I installed the software (Windows 8.1), I configured everything correctly by following the instructions on the website (whenever I attempt a remote operation, the software tells me that authentication has failed or that access is denied with a red screen (access is allowed, I checked)).
- On a second PC (Windows 10), which is in a different location (another village from mine), it says that Veyon is inaccessible or not working (with an orange screen)
- On a last PC (Windows 10), it's the same as the first.
In the first case, I can only turn on the PC remotely.
I asked the IT technician at my college, but due to not being able to see him often, I have no solution (he told me to set the PCs to a local account (administrator), which I did, with no results...)
I also experience this on other PCs, but I won’t list them all; I think you understand (another Windows 10: red screen, then another Windows 7 orange screen (one that is not on my network), and a last Windows 7 red screen)
IT MUST BE NOTED THAT IN PLACE OF THE ORANGE AND RED SCREENS I MENTIONED, THERE SHOULD BE THE SCREENS OF THE PCs
I really need your help! Thank you very much in advance,
Best regards

Hello,
As you said yourself, the PCs must be on the same local network so they can contact the server for license verification.

I tried many times, but on the bogus site (where I even tried to contact them in addition to trying to solve my problem), there is no contact information!
There is indeed a forum but it is impossible to write a message...

According to this video, it does seem very simple to set up:

You don't even know where to go to set the NTFS permissions.
Why are you the one taking care of the software configuration when it's far beyond your skills?
When I have plumbing work at home, I call the plumber instead of diving into things I absolutely don't master.
I'm not going to do all the work for the IT guy, tell him to do his job (when you see him).

Hello barnabe0057,
In general, this kind of request is made by people who do not have the access rights to a remote network, who do not know how to connect to a server and especially by students eager to "assist" the person in charge, who would probably not resort to I configured everything correctly following the instructions on the website.
I therefore share your opinion on the null and void (not to say unlawful) nature of this request.
Best regards.
