Connect a central unit to the TV ????

Hello,

I want to connect my CPU to the TV, so I bought a VGA to HDMI adapter, but the screen on my TV remains black with "no signal" displayed. Can someone help me? I don't know what to do anymore.

We need the link to this adapter, to see if it’s good or not.
And to clarify, it seems to be the PC in VGA and the TV in HDMI, is that correct?
