Remove Messenger for Windows on PC

Hello friends, I’d like to mention that I am on my PC.
I was on Messenger on the Facebook site, and then I saw "MESSENGER FOR WINDOWS!" so I clicked to install it, thinking that if I didn’t like it, I could just delete it, but it was impossible.
I went to the control panel, uninstall programs, remove. So far, so good. To my great surprise, the next day when I started my PC, Messenger for Windows appeared even though I had uninstalled it. There are certainly components that have remained on my PC, but after many attempts, I still can’t do it.

Help me please.

Thank you and see you soon.

    Hello,

This is an application from the Windows Store, so open your Start menu, then search for the Messenger app in the alphabetical list, right-click on it, and choose uninstall.

    Hello,

It is not an application that you need to delete but a procedure that you need to follow in order to cancel your subscription.

All the procedures are outlined on the Facebook site, which you should refer to in case of problems:

Thank you, but on the link you referred me to, it doesn't mention how to delete it.

I read it here, exactly at the provided link:

How do I permanently delete my account?
Before deleting your account, we recommend that you log in and download a copy of your data published on Facebook (such as photos and posts) and a copy of your Oculus information if you use your Facebook account to log in to Oculus. Once your account is deleted, you will no longer be able to recover any previously added content. etc.............

I do NOT want to delete my Facebook account: but inside the Facebook platform, Messenger is included, so NO need for Messenger for Windows. I am sending here a screenshot at the startup of my PC and I haven't opened Facebook yet. Thank you.

        I'm sorry,

I misunderstood your request. I don't know how to delete this second Messenger, which appears to be part of the Facebook universe.

The best option is for another participant who is familiar with this case to be able to tell you how to proceed.

Thank you Jag, but given the fact that I had deleted it (control panel, uninstall programs), it no longer appears anywhere except at startup. I’m still looking ... Maybe another solution?

It is possible that the launcher for this application remained in the startup module.

Right-click on the taskbar to open the task manager
Click on "More details" if nothing appears
      Go to the startup tab
Check if Microsoft Messenger is there
      Select the line
Click on disable (at the bottom right of the window).

Nonetheless, it is curious that this application installed itself without your request, but this happens during other software installations if one is not careful to disable the "gifts" offered.

Great! Thanks georges97: everything worked, it was indeed in "startup" and finally removed.
You made my day, thank you so much!
