Hello,

I need to use Messenger on PC, I can't use it on iPhone.

I need to check "open links in an external browser" but I can't find it.

Thank you in advance for your knowledge,

    Hello

If this can help you open links in an external browser on Messenger for PC, follow these steps:

    1. Open Messenger on your PC.

    2. Click on your profile picture at the top left to access the settings.

    3. Select "Preferences".

    4. In the "Photos and Media" section, enable the "Open links in an external browser" option.

This should allow links to open in your default browser instead of the embedded browser in Messenger.

    Hello,

Thank you very much for your response, I don't have that on PC.

I don't have "preferences" directly after clicking on the profile picture.

I have to click on "settings and privacy"/"preferences and content" and there I don't have "photos and media".

Looking forward to hearing from you,

      Hello,

I don't see why we "have to" use Messenger; I'm doing just fine without it.

There's little chance the previous commenter will come back to comment since the answer isn't theirs; they just, as usual, copied it from Copilot.

Either the question was poorly worded, or it's more than artificial intelligence: in real life, with 2 clicks, one can see that it only pertains to Messenger on iOS/Android.

So I don't understand it either, but at least I'm saying so, and the question remains vague.

There are 3 ways to use Messenger on PC:

      https://www.clubic.com/messagerie-instantanee/tutoriel-370653-comment-utiliser-messenger-sur-ordinateur-.html

It would therefore be appropriate to specify which one you used or to try with the others; of course, via the website, the question won't arise since, by definition, you're using your default browser.

It seems, again I don't understand it, that using Messenger on PC is limited in its features if one doesn't use a Facebook account, which can be deactivated if desired:

      Hello,

      Thank you both.

Brucine, you say "I don't see why we 'have to' use Messenger," I need to be part of a group and I was asked to create an account on Messenger, so I created a Facebook account to access Messenger.

I don't know anything about it, and I'm not sure if I did the right thing. Having serious vision problems, I can't do this on a phone; I want to access Messenger on my PC on a large screen.

      I'm still wondering:

I need to check "open links in an external browser on PC," but I can't find it, and I don't know how to delete a link on Messenger (on PC).

      Thank you,

As I said, I don't understand much about it, but at least this external browser story only concerns the mobile versions, so you probably won't run into it.

If for some reason Messenger isn't working on your PC, you should probably try one of the other options I've mentioned.

      Hello,

I was told to check "open links in an external browser".

Will the links automatically open in an external browser on PC if I do nothing? If someone knows, thanks!

      Thank you

      Hello,

I don't understand your message, I use Messenger via Facebook on PC.

If a Messenger or Facebook employee comes by to help me understand all this on PC via Facebook, I’m interested. Where is the "we" in message <1> from joemontain?

      Thank you all,
