Embed each photo name on the image

Hello, I’m looking to embed the file name on each of my photos. A few years ago, the names of my photos used to appear automatically in my slideshows, but now there’s nothing. Thanks in advance! Please note, I’m not looking to embed the same name on all my photos, but rather the specific name of each individual photo.

    Hello,

Here are 2 solutions that I will briefly present:

    1) Use the Microsoft Photos application provided with Windows 10.
You can create a slideshow by giving a title to each of your photos. The slideshow can be saved as mp4, allowing it to be played anywhere, regardless of the creation program.
Here’s a short video that will give you ideas on how to proceed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmRwlaydruk

    2) Create a slideshow with the Impress module of LibreOffice.
(Impress is the equivalent of PowerPoint, but free).

You will find tutorials on YouTube to get the hang of this software.

You can easily add photos: Insert > Media > Photo Album.
It's better to work with lightweight photos to avoid crashes.
Resize them simply with Paint or with XnViewMP (available for download on CCM).
You can, of course, give a title to each slide.

In both software programs, the original photos are obviously not modified. If you need to resize them, work on copies.

After reflection, I believe your problem is unsolvable.

When titles are not embedded in the photos, it is actually an album, which can be made with Google Photos for example, or Picasa. The titles are included in the album data.

A slideshow, created with PowerPoint or with the Photos app or another one, contains a collection of photos in which titles may be embedded. It contains modified copies of the original photos. With a large number of photos, the size can quickly reach several GB.

You specified that the slideshow should be used as a screensaver. When looking into how to use a slideshow as a screensaver, it turns out it is actually a collection of selected photos. It is not a true slideshow, meaning a file with the .pps, .mp4, .m2ts extension or similar.
If you want a title on each photo, you will need to process each photo individually by embedding a title.

I don’t know if I have been clear. All of this is obviously independent of the software used. It is dictated by the way Windows operates (using a collection of photos for screensavers).

    Hello,
are you looking to embed the name in the image or just display it as an overlay?
What slideshow software are you using?
Have you tried searching on the web?

Hello, and thank you for your help!
I just want to display the name for my slideshows. I don't want to embed it... Of course, I've been searching the web for several years but haven't found anything. I may be asking the wrong questions...
I have several slideshow options: IrfanView, PhotoFiltre 7, the Windows one... Picasa... and probably a few others. Previously, I had Photoshop from my work... but that's what retirement brings.... it's great but too expensive to install on my personal PC...

Thank you very much.... I will quickly test all this. I don’t know if I will be able to achieve what I want, which is for the name of the photo to appear without having to go to each photo to name it because it's for my screensaver slideshow and I have about 3000 photos.... In any case, thank you already!

Ah! I'm not sure this is suitable for a screensaver slideshow!

The purpose of what I sent is more about creating slideshows to send to relatives and friends.

Indeed, I tested it well, but there is no way to have the name of each photo appear simultaneously with its appearance on the screen... I will keep looking... but but but...
What surprises me a lot is that before (I think it was when Windows XP was around), the name of the photo did appear, and now, nothing at all, not even as an option...

      Hello,
in this IrfanView tutorial, there is something that might interest you
      www.ac-orleans-tours.fr%2Ffileadmin%2Fuser_upload%2Fcarm37%2Fb2i%2Fguide-diapo-irfanview.pdf

      1. Explore the hard drive of the computer to find the directory containing the
images that will be used for the slideshow.
      2. If you want to insert all the images from the directory, click on "Add All"
If you want to insert some images from the directory, double-click on
      each of them
      3. Set the options for your slideshow: automatic or manual
      4. Specify the slideshow settings: loop, hide the mouse cursor
      5. Click on the "Fullscreen Options" button to avoid writing the filename
      image during the slideshow

Sorry for the link to the PDF, our friend Google doesn't allow copying the original link.

      Hi,

Personally, I really like FastStone Image Viewer: https://www.faststone.org/download.htm

You can put text in boxes and play with the transparency.
Everything is customizable, but sometimes you need to look around a bit (don’t hesitate to right-click).

        'Hi

        I don't know!!!
        I'll have to try

IrfanView can do it too. But chat is going to get complicated

We put the text image by image in the comments via image info
We request the display $C instead of $F filename
Then we need to adjust the opacity or transparency

        cia ciao
