PC won't start when the external SSD is connected

Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out to you because I'm encountering a problem since I installed an external hard drive a few weeks ago. The model of the hard drive in question is the following: LaCie Rugged RAID Pro 4 To.
As mentioned in the title, when it is connected via USB, the PC does not start and gets stuck with the "9C" sign at the bottom right; I can't even access the BIOS...

First, I checked to see if there was an issue with the device; but that's not the case, since once the PC is started, if I plug in the hard drive everything works perfectly.
Then I thought maybe the PC was booting from the hard drive, so I changed a few settings in the BIOS, but that doesn't seem to have any effect. After that, I must admit I don't really know much about this!

I'm attaching my configuration: https://www.driverscloud.com/fr/configuration/68260832-1/resume

There you go, if you have any suggestions I'm all ears :-)
Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hello,
Connect the SSD in question only once the PC is started, Windows is not on this SSD? It may be too heavy to boot right away, or there is a conflict between the drives... It's in RAID as well!

No, my operating system is not on an SSD; you think that since the hard drive is, it can't read it at startup, but only once the PC is turned on?
This external hard drive is for storing my video games; I don't want to run my PC from it. How can I fix the problem?

try once it is connected, recognized by the PC, to enter the BIOS and move it to the bottom of the Boot list!

        Ok, I see!
Unfortunately, I can't access the BIOS when the hard drive is connected; and similarly, if I go into the BIOS and then connect the hard drive, my PC crashes.

Maybe there is a way to access the BIOS from the PC once Windows has started?

F2 or F8 depending on the models of PCs!

Sorry for the delay in responding; I've been quite busy lately.
Again, I want to clarify that unfortunately, I can't access the BIOS since my PC won't start the operating system: I'm stuck on a black screen with a small "9C" in the bottom right corner.

When I press F2 or F8, nothing happens when I have the problematic external hard drive plugged in. It only works if it's unplugged, basically.

        Hello,
How is your external hard drive formatted?
Restart your PC without the external drive, then reconnect it and open Disk Management.
If it works, it should be visible. Please send us a screenshot of the manager without disconnecting your external HDD.

    Hi,

Error 9C doesn't prevent you from accessing the BIOS. You must have QuickBoot enabled, and you don't have time to press the enter key in the BIOS.

If you don't know it, type the name of the motherboard and BIOS into a search engine, or the full name of the PC and BIOS to find it.

You turn it on and keep hitting that key; you'll get into that damn BIOS :)

    Come on, hang in there!
