BST PR 95 speed issue

Hello, I have a rather old BST PR 95 turntable and for some time now, the speed selection button for 45/33rpm works normally but the speed doesn't change (45rpm). I would have preferred the opposite, but oh well... The play button works when it feels like it, and I often have to gently spin the platter to get it rotating. Before this, the records played at 33rpm normally but every now and then the speed would slow down for a few seconds and then pick back up. I replaced the belt last summer, so it's 6 months old but I've listened to at least 4 to 5 vinyls every day until last week. So do you think it could be an issue with a worn belt already or just the wear and tear on the turntable, motor, etc.? Thank you!

      I changed the belt and for now it's working again. I must have run it way too much for it to wear out so quickly (8 months). My new belt from pointe-de-lecture.com finally arrived. The site has a lot of orders, hence the understandable delay.

    Hello and welcome to this forum,

    Since the belt is new, I'm leaning more towards a worn-out engine or a lack of lubrication

    Thanks Andy for your quick response. It might indeed be time to change it (the platinum) then. I didn't know it also needed to be lubricated. I need to look into that!

    But you're welcome, and before changing it, try lubricating it with sewing machine oil.

    Hi Andy, so I put sewing machine oil, but it didn't solve the problem (speed stuck at 45rpm, just to remind you). I wanted to buy a new belt to be sure. It's not easy to find one for this model. I ordered one from pointe-de-lecture.com which never arrived. So my turntable is now in a box in the basement lol. If anyone knows where to find belts for this model (BST pr 95), I'm interested. Have a nice weekend.
