Hello,
My printer displays the message:
"Ink system failure

Turn off, then turn on the printer"
I have performed this operation several times but the problem persists.
Can you help me with this troubleshooting?
Best regards

Hello,
You need to clean the ink system... that's the issue...
You can clean underneath the head, the side against the paper, by sliding a paper towel under the head and moistening it with car window cleaner... then move the head back and forth
To release the head, you need to turn it on and unplug it while moving the head...
You can also put windshield washer fluid, with a syringe, into the holder after removing the cartridges... 2 drops into each nozzle and the same into the cartridge holes... let it sit for 30 minutes then replace the cartridges... wait another 30 minutes then print an image rich in colors, even if it doesn't print... and then unplug the printer...
Try again the next day... it should clear up; but it can take two to three days...
That's the idea.
You should never leave these printers turned off for a long time or without cartridges or with empty cartridges... it dries up in the tiny conduits and blocks the printing. -
Since I use it very little, the ink in the cartridges must have dried and clogged the nozzles.
Since I got it (February 2011) I had never had any problems with it. -

Yes, it’s just that she’s not so young anymore... but not really old yet... If you use it very little, that could be the cause... Because these printers get clogged up little by little over time..
There is a product called "Print Head Cleaning Kit" here https://www.amazon.fr/nettoyage-dimpression-imprimante-dinjection-dimprimantes/dp/B00HTJIPQQ for not much money, it’s a last resort you could try...
After that, you’ll need to change the print head (or the printer) if that’s not sufficient..

Here’s an interesting price... you have to wait 20 days...
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32892531835.html?spm=a2g0o.search0302.0.0.77546d85AYdxPy&algo_pvid=accf9a98-9a53-4b33-bb04-9b4557f26111&algo_expid=accf9a98-9a53-4b33-bb04-9b4557f26111-1&btsid=0b0a555b16099649469284796ef149&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0%2Csearchweb201602_%2Csearchweb201603_
But to avoid clogging, you need to print a color-rich A4 page, once a week or every two weeks or so with the "PHOTO" setting so that all the nozzles work.
There you go... -
Hello Jeannets,
I changed the print head (ordered from Aliexpress on the 8th, received on the 19th, cheap at €14.71) and since then it works.
A big thank you for your advice. -
Hello Jeannets,
I have carried out the operation you communicated to me several times, but unfortunately, I still have the issue. I will wait a few more days and if nothing changes, I will replace the print head.
What do you think?
Best regards -

Yes, that might be a solution..?
But you are the one who knows if your printer is old or not, if it has worked a lot or not.
If it has been left with empty cartridges..?? or even without cartridges... or if it doesn't print often and remains inactive... All these criteria lead a printer to the graveyard.... Since you never mentioned any of this, I can't have an idea on the subject with a solid basis... I could answer randomly of course... But no. -

Well, thank you for the feedback, and we're glad it's working. You have to admit, at this price, it's worth a try... For the future, try to print a page from time to time to prevent it from getting clogged...
See you+++ Good luck.
