Hello,
I bought a new game, Mario Party 8, to play on my Wii.
When I insert the game, the image appears on the home screen, I click on it and then I have to click again to start the game. At that moment, the controllers turn off and the screen goes black "an error has occurred, please turn off the console, etc..."
My console reads other games without issues. Is there something I need to do?

Hi,
Are you sure the DVD is new? No scratches on it?
Consider cleaning the lens of the Wii's optical block.
Is this Wii original, and has it not been modified for hacking? I'm asking because this console can be hacked completely software-wise, meaning a lot of consoles are hacked...
Is the Wii up to date?
The necessary updates for the game are supposed to be integrated into the game DVD, and the Wii executes them by itself (unless there is a deliberate block with a hacked Wii).
