I will answer all these questions as best as I can:
YES GameCube (GC) games can be inserted into the Wii. You absolutely MUST have a GAMECUBE controller to play GC games on the Wii.
NO, you will not risk damaging or blocking or deteriorating your Wii with a GC game; an internal system allows the correct positioning of your GC disc. Conversely, you certainly cannot put a Wii game in your GC, as the format is not suitable at all. Imagine trying to mate a Bichon with a Saint Bernard??? Totally incompatible.
GC memory card REQUIRED to save GC game progress on the Wii.
Wii memory card NOT REQUIRED to save your Wii game progress on the Wii (of course) as you already have save blocks present (by the way, do you think the Wii channels are stored on what??)
For Internet via Wii, you need to synchronize the router (Wi-Fi Hotspot) by pressing a small button generally provided for this purpose on the router itself. Also, remember to check your Wii manual that everyone always sets aside; you will thus know the location of the acquisition button on the Wii, and you will need to enter your WEP key (if it's a WEP key).
There you go, I hope I have clarified several points, have fun!!!
