Hello,
I have Thunderbird 78.5.1 and 10 email accounts. My PC runs on Windows 10 Home 64-bit.
Following a Windows crash, I had Thunderbird open at that moment with quite a few unread emails listed and visible in the "Inbox," but after the crash, I can no longer view my emails in the "Inbox"; I have to click under "Inbox" on each email account to view the emails from each account: this is absolutely not practical!
How can I re-view all my emails when I am in the "Inbox"?
Thank you for your help.

Hello
What do you want us to do? The emails have been marked as read due to the crash
Your issue is that the PC crashed and this may happen again in the medium term, remember to back up your files and the Thunderbird folder, look for and fix the cause

A thank you is appreciated.

Hello,
I am not sure I understood the problem like Redbart nor even understood the request!
I understand that it's a matter of display arrangement for incoming emails:
- either we adjust the display in "View > Folders" and then select "All" or "Unified".
- or we can change the incoming folder in the account settings: Server settings > Message storage > Advanced and choose as the incoming mail folder that of another account
-
Thank you for your responses.
It's not easy to explain the problem well, here is a screenshot of Thunderbird.
When I retrieve my emails, they all used to display in the message display panel, but since the crash, they no longer show up in this display panel; I have to click on each email account in the folder panel to view them.

In this display mode defined by "View > Folders > Unified", the incoming mail is a virtual folder.
By right-clicking > properties > choose, you can manually define the folders to explore and group in this view.
Normally, switching the display back via the "View > Folders > All" menu and then returning to "unified" should resolve the issue automatically. -
How do you access your photo panel?
I already have version 78.5.1. -

I tried what you said RoMa_31 but it doesn't work.
My Thunderbird is buggy and it's doing some pretty weird things, I have backed up my Thunderbird profile, can you tell me how to completely uninstall Thunderbird (profile and emails included)? I tried using the Windows uninstaller but the Thunderbird profile remains on my hard drive and it is not deleted. -
-
You indeed need to manually delete the profile folder.
Everything is well explained here: https://support.mozilla.org/fr/kb/profils-thunderbird-conserve-donnees-utilisateur?redirectslug=profils-dans-thunderbird&redirectlocale=fr#w_ou-mon-profil-est-il-stocke
PS: before deleting everything, it might be worth deleting the virtualfolder.dat file located in the profile (with TB closed) and then resetting the display settings to what you want. -
Ok thanks.
1) I back up my emails and my passwords for my Thunderbird accounts with MozBackup.
2) I uninstall Thunderbird.
3) I manually delete my profile located at C:\Users\PC-Bureau\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\wghfhkg.default
4) I restart my computer.
5) I reinstall Thunderbird.
6) I restore my passwords and emails via MozBackup.
Is that correct? -
Yes, that is the procedure to follow. However, Mozbackup will restore the backed-up profile but with the altered profile files, so the problem may reoccur.
You have nothing to lose by trying. Let us know what happens afterward... -
It worked :)
It's working correctly now... but I spent my entire Sunday on it...
A big thank you for your valuable help. -
Hello @Bruno,
For the future, see this alternative: The global mailbox.
It has the advantage of displaying all incoming emails in the "Inbox" folder (which will be placed under Local Folders), across all accounts. The notion of account is only found in the account display for each message on each message line.
This applies not only to incoming emails but also to sent items, drafts, trash, etc., all grouped in a single set of email folders.

It's definitely a good solution for those who manage multiple email accounts, thanks for the tip.
