Hello everyone,
I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M710q equipped with an I3-6100T and 16GB of RAM.
I would like to replace my processor with an I3-8100T, but unfortunately the computer fails to start even after a BIOS update.
Do you have any solutions to suggest?
Thank you in advance
Pierre

Hello
If you look at this site (sorry, in English) and check the table at the bottom, you will find the list of upgrades proposed for your i3-6100T processor with the success rate.
It's a 6th generation processor and you are trying to replace it with an i3-8100T processor of the 8th generation.
Aside from the fact that swapping one i3 for another i3 may not offer much benefit, unlike an i5 or i7, it is especially important to know if your motherboard can support 8th generation processors!!! which seems unlikely.
A+
If the answer helped you: a little thank you is nice. If it's resolved: the green button at the top is better ;-)

Thank you for your answers. Since it was a socket 1151, I thought it would be compatible. The interest would have been to upgrade from 2 to 4 cores and to have a more powerful graphics chip.
Hello
So, as mentioned in the table, Core i5-6600 or Core i7-6700 for more power without consuming more than the case can provide.
For the video card, if it's a Tiny case, there’s no possibility other than an external USB 3 graphics card which is probably overpriced :-).
Cheers
