Hello everyone, I have a problem that you might be able to help me solve. I just bought an I7 6700 processor because I want to replace my I5 9400 in my MSI 360 pro motherboard socket 1151. But when I install my I7, as soon as I turn on the computer, it immediately turns off and restarts over and over again. Can someone please explain my problem?

    Hello

Are you sure you wrote it correctly? I7 6700?

Because this processor cannot replace an i5 9400, the MSI 360 pro motherboard only supports processors from the 8th and 9th generation.

Yes, so in order to use it, I will need to buy a motherboard that supports the 6th generation, right? I will have to be very careful from now on then. Thank you for the information you just gave me, and I wish you an excellent evening and a good weekend.

    Good evening,

Choosing the i5 9400 is a serious mistake; it is better and officially compatible with Windows 11, unlike the 6700.

Hello, I am going to use this I7 to build another PC with Windows 7 for someone who needs Windows 7 for games they have that are not compatible with Windows 8 and 10. This is why I was talking about buying another motherboard.
