Computer not detecting my Brother DCP-153C printer

Question

Hello,I bought a new HP computer yesterday. Today I'm trying to print a document, but my computer can't find my Brother DCP-153C printer.The USB cable of the printer works, and the USB port of my computer also works.The printer works perfectly with other devices and when making copies.I tried to search for the printer, but nothing.Thank you in advance for contacting me if you've ever experienced this problem or if you have a solution to share with me.Have a nice day.

In the queue, if you click on printer then cancel all documents, will it be erased?  Otherwise, once canceled, restart the PC and then try a new print.

Yes, the other computer is also Windows 10  Okay, I deleted the printer and when I try to add it, it is not detected during the search. Is it turned on when you search?  Try plugging it into another port and then restart the search. Oh yes, I indeed checked that box  But the prints still won't go through, and it says "default error"  I tried running a troubleshooter, but when there are no documents in the queue, it can't find any problems and the error is no longer there.

I think there is a conflict somewhere, but without having the PC in front of me, it's complicated.  The only thing I see is that there might be different versions of Windows 10.  To find out, on both PCs, do:  => Press Windows + R => Type winver => The version is on the second line.  If the version of the HP is older, update it. If it is newer, that could explain the issue. The one with version 20H2 is the HP  The other one is an Asus, it has version 2004

The one with version 20H2 is the Hp   So, it might be coming from there.  Was the PC purchased with this version? Or was it recently updated?  You can try to see if you can revert to a previous version to see if it works: https://www.malekal.com/retrograder-windows10-revenir-version-precedente/  Or see, as mentioned above, with Brother. They might have a solution to make it work under 20H2.

If it leads to nothing, can a computer scientist restore the old version of Windows?  No, except by going through the reset.  If the PC is not old and you don't have important programs on it (that you can easily reinstall), you can do the reset (to see if it installs the same version) or do a factory reset like when you bought it: https://www.malekal.com/reinitialiser-windows-10/  Hoping that originally, it is not under 20H2!!

Good evening,  After resetting my computer, I checked by pressing Windows r and typing winver; the version of Windows 10 was 2004, just like the other PC that works.  I do a print and when I connect my printer, it is automatically detected and printing works.  So, the problem is solved for now.  But I wonder if when I do the update, or if the other computer prompts me to do this update, I will still be able to print (I’m hesitant to try given all the troubles).

Hello everyone ....  Just for your information, there was a bug last June due to Windows updates, which generally affected Brother printers, and Microsoft released a fix three weeks later (not in a hurry!) for version 2004, which was KB4567523 (Source) You just had to install this fix to restart the printer....  There is a good chance that the new PC purchased with version 2004 had this bug ... and the fact that resetting the PC automatically fixed this bug because Microsoft addressed the issue ... for all versions, even future ones... so in principle, no more problems.. Hello  I bought a new Hp computer yesterday. Today I'm trying to print a document but my computer can't find my Brother DCP-153C printer. The printer's USB cable works, and the USB port on my computer works too.   You plugged in the USB cable without installing the driver(s), so W10 installed a "generic" driver for your printer.  To solve your problem, do this:  Uninstall the printer using Revo Uninstaller in advanced mode.  Unplug the printer from the PC (W10).  Download Revo Uninstaller to your desktop --> click here  Right-click on Revo Uninstaller, and choose "run as administrator" to install it.  The tutorial to help you --> click here  When the uninstallation is complete, reinstall your printer with the driver from the Brother site --> click here  ATTENTION: the installation is done with the USB cable unplugged, you will plug it in when the installation asks you to.
