Unable to connect to VPN "Forticlient" while tethering

Hello,
I have a problem with my work PC and the company's IT service is not being helpful. Since it is very annoying not to be able to connect remotely, I’m trying here to see if anyone has an idea of what the problem could be.
Here it is: I have a work laptop secured by "Forticlient." When I connect from an open Wi-Fi network like in a hotel, restaurant (even McDonald's...), I can launch Forticlient to connect to my company's secure network.
However, if I’m in my car and need to connect via mobile hotspot with my phone, it’s impossible. Work laptop is on iOS and personal phone is Android.
My laptop connects to the internet just fine; I can browse... but when I launch Forti, it loads and gets stuck at 98% with an error message.
Has anyone ever had this problem?
