Hello,
I had a bunch of issues with the last update of Anno 1800, Uplay having turned into "Ubisoft Connect" (which I find stupid).
My Nvidia GeForce 1050 graphics card got disabled, I ended up with just the Intel graphics card, which I suspected was confirmed by a dxdiag, which also found DirectX 12 while I had always "run" with Dx 11.
Anyway, I downloaded the drivers from the Nvidia website, set the game to Dx 12 and it's all back to perfect like before...
Well, almost:
- if I pause the game for more than a few seconds, I get a crash.
- if I leave it running just long enough to go to the bathroom, I get a crash.
The message is always the same: Unexpected directX error
It's frustrating and there's probably a solution, thanks in advance for helping me out.

I couldn't find a solution to the problem, so I worked around it.
1 - I downloaded the graphics card drivers from the nVidia website to update them better than Driver Booster could, and then I installed them.
2 - I then opened the device manager to reactivate the graphics card (GE Force 1050 TI), as the native Intel card had strangely ended up being the only one active.
3 - After restarting, everything was back to normal, but Dx12 caused recurring crashes during pauses, so I opted for Dx11 to manage my two games (Tropico 6 and Anno 1800), and everything returned to normal.
Conclusion: be wary of Driver Booster and don't let it touch nVidia drivers, and don't hesitate to prefer the "old" Dx11 when Dx12 starts messing up.
