Excel sequence problem with numbers

Hello,
For three days now, I’ve had a problem with Excel. Up to now, to display a sequence of numbers, I would enter two consecutive cells and then drag, and I would get the sequence. For three days, the auto-fill doesn’t work anymore. When I drag the two cells, the first one keeps appearing repeatedly (A1-A2 = A1 A1 A1 ...).
Following tips I read on a forum, I went to the "Calculation" option to see if I had switched to "Manual". No, I’m still in "Automatic".
Not being very experienced with computers, I no longer know what to do to return to the previous behavior. I specify that I am using Microsoft Office 2007.
