Hello,
I bought a whole PC to assemble myself. I chose the Ryzen 5800X with the Aorus B550 Elite motherboard, but the problem is that when I connect my motherboard to my power supply, it only lights up for half a second, then it turns off, just like the power supply. I thought it might be a short circuit to prevent it from catching fire, but I don't know how to fix the issue, thanks in advance.

Hi,
indeed, the motherboard doesn’t even seem to show an error message, it's a direct cut.
I know it's annoying, but try removing your motherboard and testing it outside of your case, on a non-conductive material (like wood) with only the vital components connected to it (CPU & cooler, RAM, power supply) and see if it starts normally (so without cutting out after half a second).
Have a good evening, -
Attention, it seems that not all current motherboards are automatically compatible with Ryzen 5000. A prior BIOS update is often essential. The good news is that most B550-based motherboards, like the Gigabyte Aorus B550 Elite, allow for BIOS updates without a CPU. Therefore, it's advisable to attempt a BIOS update.
