Hello and thanks already for your help. I have been using MS Money 2004 (on Windows 8.1) for a long time; over time it has become too slow, I remember reading how to fix it. but at 92 my memory fails me.

Hello ....
Can you be more precise because I don't see why MsMoney would have become too like this?
What makes you "say" that he has become too slow?

Hello jmarion3, I am glad to have this contact so quickly as well, thank you. This slowness manifests when performing operations, for example from the schedule and their transfer to the accounts, so every time it accesses the database, all the operations that are recorded take a lot of time! MS Money recommends performing an annual archiving and I lost sight of this recommendation; for a few years I haven’t done it and I wonder if the base file is not saturated and could be the cause of this excessive slowness? The operations that do not require a save do not have this slowness? Thanks for your help. Clément ******* **************** NB: I have a PC problem and I am using a PC loaned to me.

Hello.....
Regarding the slowness of MsMoney, this may originate from the PC itself if there is a problem as you mentioned above...
For archiving MsMoney ► Do as below
1► Launch MsMoney
2► In the top toolbar, click on Fichier
3► Then in the window that opens click ArchivER
4► A new window opens in which you must tell MsMoney the date on which it should perform its archiving

5► Plan for external support to back up the archive
See you for your comments... but if none ► Résolu

Hello again jmarion3,
This problem does not seem related to my PC’s operation, because using this spare PC I have the same slow performance. (my PC is broken after a short circuit of the power supply)
On the other hand, this slowdown issue was described in a technical publication and the cause was a saturated database, but unfortunately I can't locate that publication.
I was hoping that this publication came from how it works and that we might have been able to find it?
Thank you, I will apply your archiving tips as soon as I receive the power supply box for my PC.

Hello again.....
If I’m not mistaken, I don’t think an article has been published on CCM about the slowness of MsMoney, as I’m quite attentive to this software ...... however it may be what I recommend below?
As you probably know, MsMoney has not been supported or updated by Microsoft for more than 15 years but it still works perfectly well ... but with Windows updates MsMoney sometimes encounters problems and the only effective way to resolve these problems is to perform a clean uninstall by following the instructions in the links below ► However, it is imperative to keep the latest up-to-date backup in order to relaunch MsMoney ..
1► Uninstallation
2► Reinstallation-
Thank you jmarion3, I will take your advice into account, I will uninstall with all the necessary care as soon as I receive my "power supply" and I will keep you informed of the result and the behavior of MS Money 2004. If how it works didn't exist yet, it should be invented!! It is in the public interest. Thank you again. C. DW
