Hello,
I have a project due tomorrow, and my teacher told me to make an audio file of no more than 10 MB. I was wondering how many minutes my audio would last, please.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
It depends on the compression
In .WAV it can be a minute and a few seconds, in MP3 320kbps it can be about 5 minutes.
At worst, you can cut out what is too much with Audacity.

Hello,
It depends on the software used, the chosen format, and possibly what is referred to as the sampling frequency (roughly related to the desired quality), for example, if one uses software like Audacity.
For the format, there is a huge difference in size between a WAV file and a compressed MP3 file.
The simplest approach, in my opinion, rather than trying to master software like Audacity in one late afternoon and one night, is to use the software available on Windows 10, called "Voice Recorder," which is extremely simple to use.
To use it, type "Voice Recorder" (without quotes) into the search module (right-click on the Windows menu).
I assume you are looking to record a comment, due to the lack of specific information.
Make sure that the microphone is properly activated (if it’s a laptop, of course)
Do a test with, for example, one minute of recording.
Check how much this file weighs, ensuring that you save it in an easily accessible location, like your desktop or documents (right-click, properties)
Then estimate how much a 10-minute file would weigh.
Best regards.
