Ringtone Delay Alcatel f630

Question

Good evening everyone,

I just bought a new Alcatel f630 landline phone and I’m already noticing a problem.

When receiving an incoming call, the phone lights up, the number displays fine... but there’s no ringing sound... I have to wait about 10 seconds (around 3 rings on the caller's side) before the ringtone actually starts (finally).

I’ve searched through all the phone’s menus for a setting that could be the source of the problem but found nothing.
This is unacceptable; I will never have time to pick up before the caller thinks no one is there and hangs up!
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I don’t know if it's related, but I also find this phone particularly slow when navigating through the menus and the directory, strange for such a recent phone...

Your phone is new...
Have you waited long enough for the batteries to charge?
The manual states to charge it for 15 hours before using the device.

Yes, I did wait 15 hours, I even waited more than a day...
The phone is working, I don't think it's the batteries but more of an issue with the phone itself... unless it's something normal...

10 seconds is 2 rings and not 3
Now, is this delay in ringing due to searching the directory for the name of the correspondent that could be listed there?

I still think it would be worth contacting customer service for a possible exchange

The time it takes to search for the name in the directory is what I thought, but the contact's name appears right away on the phone when the call comes in...

Yes, I will call them tomorrow then.

It seems that the ECO mode could be the cause of this problem
For Alcatel phones, see if this procedure allows you to disable this mode of operation (assuming it is active):

Hello,

Yes, so I called Alcatel's customer service (premium number...) who just advised me to return the phone to the place where I bought it (in this case, a large retail store) for a refund.

Not finding any other alternatives to this model (function/price ratio), I bought a new one in another store, except this time it was gray rather than sky blue.

And miraculously, navigation through the phone's menus is now smooth and instantaneous, and of course, there is no longer any delay before the ringtone.

One small detail that bothers me a bit is that on my old phone I was used to the Alcatel ringtones which I had found on the blue F630. On the gray model, the ringtones are completely different and seem a bit more "fanciful" to me... probably a matter of getting used to.

I made a purchase a few days ago and I have the same problem: a delay of 3 or 4 seconds before the ringtone goes off. I called Alcatel's customer service: it's a defect in the device that affects all phones with the serial number FR-C024155. There is no solution other than to return and exchange the product at the store. You should then carefully check the serial number on the packaging!

Manipulation to do:

Press Menu ok
Scroll down using the arrow to Settings and confirm with Menu ok
Scroll down using the arrow to Delay R and confirm with Menu ok
It will display Short, Medium, Long (select your choice using the arrow) and confirm with Menu ok

I didn't mention the R button!  In the Menu, go to Settings and then Base Settings, you need to change the R Delay = Response time for ringing.
