What is the flashing delay?

The settings on my Siemens Gigaset A415 phone allow me to set the flashing delay. What does this mean? Thank you in advance for your responses.

    Hello,

    Flashing is used in cases where you have a PBX; the duration of the flash depends on the switch (synchronization between the base and the switch)
