USB RUFUS NOT RECOGNIZED TV

Hello,

Sorry if I'm not in the right section, but I found everything except a USB category...

Let me briefly explain the problem:
I formatted my PC with Rufus using a USB stick, everything went well. Once finished, I quickly formatted (the USB stick) to remove the operating system. The stick is in FAT32 format (as it originally was), but now it is no longer recognized on the LG TV (it's not a smart TV). Before I made it bootable with Rufus, it worked very well for movies/audio/photos...
I've tried formatting it with several software programs, but the result remains the same.

The error message that appears when I connect the stick to the TV: "Problem with the USB device"

Thank you very much for your responses.

    Hello,

I don't understand why you are using Rufus to format a USB drive intended to be plugged into a TV. Rufus is used to create a bootable USB drive for a computer, to install an operating system on a PC.

To format a removable storage device like a USB stick or an SD card, you can simply do it from the file explorer. The TV cannot handle the file generated from the OS ISO.

If this USB drive no longer works or cannot be formatted, try using another one temporarily.

    Best regards

      Hello,

It seems that the issue has been resolved, but I will respond nonetheless.
I have always formatted my PCs with a USB drive; it seems to me that a USB drive can have multiple functions...
The USB drive in question was not purchased for a single use, I had that one on hand so I used it to format.

The problem is not there; it's that I hadn't paid attention to the GPT/MBR format. The issue being resolved, the USB drive now works optimally on the TV.

Moreover, we don't use Rufus to format a USB drive, but rather to make it bootable. Once the formatting was done on the PC, I formatted it simply by accessing My Computer and right-clicking / format, but that does not change the original format.

      Best regards.

I'm sorry, I think I took too long to write my response and you closed the topic at the same time. I didn't see it.

Furthermore, I made an error in interpretation thinking you wanted to use the Rufus key on the TV (if I'm not making a second mistake).

I therefore unnecessarily interfered with kaumune's appropriate response.

I apologize to both of you and wish you a good Sunday.
