Hello everyone in the community...
I have acquired a new laptop, LENOVO IDEAPAD 100S with Windows 10 pre-installed on it.
I want to install Windows 7, but during the process, I am confronted with an error message: A device driver for the CD/DVD driver is missing. If you have a driver disk, CD, DVD, or USB drive, please insert it now.
I have done a lot of research on various platforms that have allowed me to understand the error a bit, but I still can't solve the problem and proceed with the installation.
I have changed the USB boot location, I have tried a different USB drive, but nothing works.
The PC only has 3 USB ports. No CD/DVD drive. It also only has 32GB of hard drive space (probably an SSD, which I don't know much about)
Please help me....

Hello
I am skeptical about downgrading (going down) from Windows 10 to Windows 7.
What is your interest? Considering that Windows 10's compatibility options allow the use of older Windows 7 programs and especially the driver issues for Windows 7 with your Lenovo IDEAPAD 100S!
Your installation issues arise from the fact that the IDEAPAD uses USB 3.0 while the Windows 7 installation media can only natively manage USB 2.0, hence its request for a driver.
You need to add generic drivers for USB 3.0 on the Windows 7 ISO. Intel has even produced an official document on this topic.
Some users have created Windows 7 ISOs with a "boot" based on Windows 10 DVD to work around the problem.
See you +

If the answer helped you: a little thank you is nice. If it's resolved: the green button at the top is better ;-)
Let him who has never opened a user manual throw the first mouse.

Hello
Well... Why not :-(
You can find brand SSDs of 120GB for less than €30
It's up to you... But with the cost of labor (although you’re not paying yourself ;-) it’s at least €10 an hour.
See you later

I will apply your solution approach and let you know the result.
In fact, the reason for my system change is that the PC only has 32GB of SSD storage, leaving me with 28GB available. However, the Windows 10 installed on it takes up 27GB by itself. This means that I lack enough space to install other basic applications like Office and others... Therefore, I want to install a system that is less demanding on storage.
not sure that Windows 7 takes up less space
NEVER BUY A PC WITH ONLY 32 GB OF STORAGE
