Hello,
I just moved into a place that has RJ45 sockets according to the real estate developer: 2 in the living room and 1 in each bedroom. I tried connecting an RJ11-RJ45 cable and an Ethernet-Ethernet cable between the wall and the TV, but I can't find any digital channels.

Do I need to subscribe to an internet service to receive TV? How should I proceed?

Thank you in advance

Configuration: iPhone / Safari 13.1.2

Hello,
A television receives digital terrestrial channels if it is connected to an antenna (via a coaxial cable).
It displays images if it is connected to a TV box or a decoder (via an HDMI cable).
It has an RJ45 port in order to connect to an ADSL or fiber box to access the Internet (via an Ethernet cable).
However, an RJ11/RJ45 cable can only connect a landline phone.

In your home, is there no phone socket resembling one of the two below?

In the absence of an antenna socket (which seems mandatory to have television), you indeed need an internet package, which implies a phone line or that "fiber" is installed.

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...
