Problem - installation - HP LaserJet M14-M17 printer

Hello,
I just bought an HP LaserJet M14-M17 printer. I unpacked it and set it up according to the instructions. I plugged it into a power source and connected it to my computer (the printer does not work offline). Then, I installed the drivers (and HP Smart) following the instructions on the CD provided with the printer. Once the installation was complete, I started a print job, but as soon as I click print, a notification appears saying "The printer indicates an error state." A few seconds later, a sheet passes through the printer, but nothing prints (except for twice when just the very beginning of the document - less than a centimeter of text - went through).
Does anyone have any advice for getting the printer to work? I thought it might be a toner issue, but HP Smart indicates that it is properly installed.
I have already tried reinstalling the drivers, unplugging and replugging the printer, but nothing works...

Personally, I don't know this type of printer, but why not try installing it not from the provided installation CD (which may not be up to date??) but from the HP website

In my opinion, it would be good to perform a clean and complete uninstallation before attempting a new installation..

If the problem persists, why not contact HP support since this printer is brand new...
