Hello!
I have been on a lot of sites and I saw that forums and communities say that Yandex Browser is a PUP or a Trojan horse, so I wanted to know if it's true or not because I wanted to install it.
Thank you for the answers.

Hello,
since it is downloadable on ccm I doubt it.
since it's Russian, it’s not surprising that there are such rumors.

then on or not
Hello.
Sorry to contradict you, jumulka, the fact that it's downloadable from the CCM site is not a reference. The FormatFactory software is also available for download on the CCM site; it has even been recommended, but it still contains malware.
Malwarebytes directly blocks the downloaded file and puts it completely in quarantine. Bitdefender is more subtle; it cleans the downloaded file and then allows the installation, enabling the use of the program.
As for Yandex Browser, the simplest thing is to install Malwarebytes if you haven't done so already. If you install it, it can be used for free for 14 days in premium version. After that period, if you don't purchase the license, it remains usable but no longer monitors the computer in real-time. You have to run the scan manually. So, if you install Malwarebytes and then download Yandex Browser, you'll have the answer immediately on whether it's infected or not. If Malwarebytes is already installed, download Yandex Browser and scan it right away before doing anything else.
Have a nice day.

I use Format Factory, there's no malware in it...., with Kaspersky and Windows Defender. I've never had any problems with it. There are a lot of false positives... there's even a simple code you can type in a batch, I don't remember it anymore, but the antivirus says it's a virus, when it's not at all.
I've already had programs detected as viruses when they're not at all, some antiviruses detect them as viruses, others catch that it's a false positive.
Regarding my response, I forgot to say. I think it's reliable.

Indeed, there are many false positives.
Antivirus programs flag software like FormatFactory (which I use and recommend as well) because they offer the installation of another program (treated as adware) during the installation of the main program. It is up to the installer to be careful to decline (uncheck the corresponding box) the installation of the additional program instead of just clicking next and next.
Regarding the widespread rumors about Russian programs, I admit I do not understand why the collective consciousness of the mainstream web always aims to discredit everything that is Russian. And yet...
I wanted to download Driverspack and my antivirus issued a terrifying alert...
