PC reset issue

Hello, I'm explaining my problem because I'm completely lost. I have a THOMSON NEO17C laptop that I decided to reset because there was a processor issue (it was constantly at 100%, but that's not the problem now). So I decided to completely reset it to factory settings, but the issue is that I started the operation at 11 AM, and currently it’s 5 PM. So it’s been 6 hours that it's been going in circles without knowing if it’s progressing or not because I don't see a percentage display. I am stuck on a page that says "Thomson technology is your friend" with a spinning circle below; it’s been like this for 6 hours. What should I do? Wait without knowing if it's worth it? I can't see any progress; maybe I’m waiting for nothing. Or should I restart? I was advised against doing that. PLEASE, if someone can help or advise me, I’m all ears :) Thank you in advance.

    Good evening,
If it's turning like this, it's because it's trying to boot from a disk to start Windows and can't find it. I think the system disk is faulty. How old is your PC?

Good evening, thank you for your response. So is there a solution to know if that's really the case? What should I do?

    Hello,

    Reinstall Windows 10 without formatting:

The principle is to create a bootable USB drive of Windows 10 and start the computer from it to reinstall Windows without formatting in order to keep the data.
Since the computer is stuck, you need to create it from another working computer.

    To create the USB drive:

You need a USB drive of at least 8 GB.

If the USB drive does not work, try making another one with Rufus: how to download Rufus.

The Windows 10 installer should then start:

Follow these tutorials that explain how to install Windows 10:
All steps are provided from A to Z with tips at the end to secure Windows 10.
    • Let yourself be guided to install Windows 10.
    • Choose customize (not upgrade)
    • During the partition phase, select the main partition and click next.

    • The installer will tell you that Windows is already present and offer to move it.

    • Follow the Windows installation procedure using the tutorial above.

    Just don’t format.

Your user data will be copied into the Windows.old folder.
You can then recover favorites, passwords from web browsers, etc.
Read this tutorial: Recover deleted applications during the reset of your PC to Windows 10

Once Windows is installed, I advise you to follow these tips to properly configure and use Windows: Tips after reinstalling Windows.
