Hello, I noticed in some documents I received from clients that some hyphens ""-"" between compound words appeared as invisible characters!!
Meaning that when I display the usual invisible characters (space, line break, ...) these hyphens also turn blue.... The issue is that they disappear when I copy/paste the text into another application....
????? I honestly don't understand because they are not in the list of official characters in Word... can someone enlighten me???
Thanks
Configuration: Macintosh / Firefox 77.0

Hello,
I would talk about conditional hyphens... that is to say, hyphens that are invisible unless the word appears at the end of the line, in which case they turn into a hyphen for word division. This allows one to impose their choice of hyphenation on long words, for example.
But on Mac, I don't know anything.

How can I transform this dash into a "real" dash, because it needs to be present and it even displays when the word is in the middle of the page ...???
here's what it looks like with and without the display of invisible characters...
