Bonjour tout le monde, je me décide à finalement demander de l'aide car là je sèche.
Durant le confinement j'ai mis en place un serveur basé sur des vieilles pièces qui trainaient, rien de fou, et des pièces en bon état (je les utilisais jusqu'à il y a 6 mois pour les plus anciennes). Notez que le serveur n'est pas réellement dans un boitier, mais dans un carton, sur des stands, sous la télé.
Bref j'ai du coup mis mon Ubuntu 18.04, mon webmin et netdata pour surveiller tout ça, mis en place mon serveur Minecraft pour les amis confinés, le serveur samba pour partager le disque dur dans la maison, et Kodi standalone pour regarder tout ces bons films et séries pendant les longues soirées confinées.
Tout a marché nickel, hors mes cafouillages, moultes soucis avec Pulsaudio et Moonlight (toujours pas résolu mais tant pis), j'ai décidé d'installer Plex pour partager mes fichiers vidéos avec des amis.
Et là patatras soudainement le serveur s'éteignait tout seul, sans que je ne puisse déterminer pourquoi. J'ai désinstaller Plex, personne ne l'utilisait au final et ça mangeait pas mal de ressources (qui sont tout de même limité). Ca s’est bien passé pendant une semaine et aujourd'hui en rentrant du boulot il était encore éteint. J'ai un peu épluché les logs et j'ai vu que visiblement il s'est éteint proprement, tout les services se sont coupé les un après les autre (je vous les mets en pièces jointes.). Si quelqu'un peu m'aiguiller, je m'oriente vers un soucis tout bête de faux contact avecc mon bouton un peu bricolé, et demain je lancerais peut-être un memtest, en attendant si vous avez des pistes je suis preneur.

Depuis j'ai fais une fausse manip et j'ai du tout réinstallé. Dans les faits le système est totalement différent, hors il l'a refait, donc je pense que c'est hardware.
Et voici le log du tout dernier shutdown en date

Il peut s'agire d'une surchauffe du processeur. Le processus thermald mentionné dans les logs (syslog, je suppose) peut être à l'origine de l'extinction de la machine pour éviter au processeur de griller.
Tu peux lancer thermald en mode debug pour sauvegarder la sortie dans un fichier, pour observer ce qui se passe lors d'une extinction forcée de la machine et vérifier cette hypothèse :
sudo service thermald stop sudo thermald --no-daemon --loglevel=debug 2>&1 thermald_log_output.txt
Laisse la fenêtre de terminal ouverte, ou lance ces commandes avec un screen préalable (sinon en fermant la fenêtre de terminal, tu fermes le processus thermald lorsqu'il est lancé comme cela).
Les raisons d'une surchauffe peuvent être multiples. Par exemple : tu as oublié de mettre de la pâte thermique entre le processeur et son socle, ou elle est mal mise ou de mauvaise qualité et/ou ton ventilateur de processeur ne fonctionne pas bien et/ou ton radiateur éventuel est mal mis.
Oui j'ai envisagé la question, mais en vrai je surveille constamment via Netdata, et le processeur est très sage, même en load (quand le serveur Minecraft tourne avec 4/5 personnes par exemple) il ne dépasse pas les 70°.
Pour l'instant j'ai désinstallé unattended-upgrades, considérant que j'ai noté que c'était le dernier service à s'activer avant l'extinction. Et il semblerait que ça ait fonctionné vu que ça va faire une semaine qu'il tourne sans soucis là. Je ne crie pas victoire trop vite, on sait jamais, mais je pense qu'on peut mettre "résolu" au thread \o/
