How to switch a private group to a public group?

Hello everyone.
I would like to know how to switch from a private group to a public group on Facebook. Most importantly, I want to know if it is possible to revert back to a public group once it has been switched to private. I'm having trouble with it, thank you for your help.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 83.0.4103.61

    For groups of 5,000 members and more:
    Only a more restrictive setting can be applied to the group's privacy. This restriction protects the members of large groups so that their posts are not shared with audiences other than those they have chosen.

Hello, for that it's simple, go to your group, then on the left you have all the little admin tools. Then scroll to the bottom, click on settings, and then it's up to you to play around.

  Thank you for your quick response, Robinou80. However, when it comes to unchecking the "private" option to switch to "public," it’s impossible. That’s why I'm asking whether it’s actually possible. Since this morning, I’ve been trying every means (phone and PC), and it’s not working. I'm starting to despair, lol.

Hello, I have the same issue as you and I've been looking every day for a month to figure out how to switch from private to public and still nothing, grrr have you found anything?

  I don’t think we can switch from private to public, regardless of the number of members, due to confidentiality concerns stemming from the initial choice. It is stated as such on the Facebook settings page.
