Hello everyone,
I saw a forum on this site dedicated to the same issue, but no solutions were provided and it dates back several months, so I'm bringing it up again.
Since yesterday, I have been unable to reconnect to my Messenger account.
This account was not linked to Facebook; it was just a Messenger account with a phone number.
Yesterday, I decided to create a Facebook account with a fake identity because I didn’t want to use my real name on this application, and it was supposed to be for fun (following gaming news).
Anyway, the account was created, and I entered my phone number (the same one I used for my Messenger account).
And then, to my amazement, I'm unable to reconnect to my Messenger account: "account restricted, you cannot log in to Facebook with this account due to restrictions on this type of account."
I’ve searched everywhere; many people have this issue, but no one provides a solution to fix it.
- I deleted my Facebook account, as well as the phone number associated with it.
- I tried to log in to Messenger Lite, and that doesn’t work either.
So I’m asking if there is any way to recover the account?
But I must admit that after this, I'm more tempted to permanently delete this account because I don’t like their method of forcing us to use Facebook, but without the ability to access my account, it’s difficult to delete it.

I have the same problem, I no longer wanted Facebook to use my date of birth, with all the identity thefts that are happening today, it is really easy to impersonate someone with the date of birth and any other form of identification, so I wanted to change my date of birth (I admit it was stupid of me, I should have copied all my files before and closed my account)
Now I receive this message and it is impossible to contact anyone
