Hello,
I have a Lenovo ThinkStation E32.
But I can’t update it.
I noticed there’s an extra folder in my C drive: SWTOOLS.
I have Eset Internet Security and I believe it’s blocking the update because it shows a notification that it has blocked it!
I have uninstalled Eset, but the BIOS update still won't go through.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,
Use Winflash to install the BIOS update
Note: Depending on the system, different download options may be available.
Download the latest version of the BIOS to the Windows desktop for easy access. Use the following steps to search for and download the BIOS:
Open the Lenovo support website (support.lenovo.com).
Enter the system computer type or product name.
On the product page, click on Drivers & Software.
Filter by BIOS / UEFI and choose the corresponding operating system information.
Download and install the BIOS following the readme file instructions.
Right-click on the BIOS flash package and choose Run as administrator. Note: A double-click on the BIOS flash memory package will not run this program under Windows Vista.
Windows will display an automatic extraction window, click the Install button.
Click the Flash BIOS button.
A warning window will appear reminding the user to connect the system power supply and provide further information on the flash.
Click the OK button. The BIOS update flashing program will automatically run.
Note: Please wait until the BIOS update flashing program finishes the installation.
Once the BIOS update is complete, the system will automatically restart.

I just did it again after several restarts.
I ended up on an American Megatrends BIOS page.
It stayed idle for a while, so I pressed escape and it restarted normally.-

Alright.
How do you update the BIOS?
The firmware compatible with your BIOS depends on your motherboard: you must be careful not to mix up models. A mistake of this type could render your motherboard unusable!
Launch msinfo32. This system utility allows access to a wealth of information about your computer's components. To launch it, simultaneously press the Windows key and the R key, then type msinfo32 and press Enter.
Go to System Summary
Look for the line BIOS version/Date, and note this information
Once you have this information, you need to retrieve the update. The easiest way is to type the previously noted information into Google. Be careful to retrieve the new BIOS from the manufacturer's website (here Lenovo).
Once the corresponding flashing program for your system is downloaded, be sure to read the accompanying Readme.txt file. This file contains many details about the changes made by the update. You might discover the reason for a recurring system issue and its solution there too!
A few precautions before starting the update
Let’s reiterate: updating the BIOS is not a trivial update. It cannot be interrupted midway, or you risk being unable to start your computer again. So make sure that your PC is plugged in (if it’s a laptop), and that no one is doing work in your building. In short, ensure there are no power outages during the operation.
To avoid any conflicts, close all programs. You are now ready to launch the .exe file for the update and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Most of the time, it will be in English, but generally, it’s not too complicated: just press the Update button and be patient. The operation usually takes only a few minutes at most.
On modern PCs, the operation is as simple as described above. On older machines, you might need to use a bootable external USB drive. We will explain in a future guide how to create one. If you already have a drive you can boot from, follow our guide to help you start your computer from it.

Hello
don't stress about this BIOS update
if your PC is working fine, there's no need to update the BIOS
because sometimes updates do more harm than good
