Hello,

My laptop has been refusing to turn on for a while now and is stuck on the "Please wait" screen, so I can't see my desktop.
I've tried several restarts, and it only works in safe mode.
My two last installed programs are VLC (latest version) and Java (also the latest version). I uninstalled VLC, and it didn't change anything, and I can't uninstall Java. (Maybe it's because of safe mode, I don't know.)
What could I do to get it to restart normally without going through safe mode?
(Since I have a lot of data on it, I can't afford to do a full reset and lose my data. And I don't have enough space to back everything up.)
Does anyone have a solution that doesn't involve losing my data, please?

Thank you.

Info on the PC: It's a Dell laptop, only a year old, running Windows 7, and it has been working more or less normally until now (aside from one or two bluescreens now and then).

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 27.0.1453.94

Hello
Restart and tap the F8 key. On the startup page, click at the top on Repair.
